I was mostly reacting to other answers and I guess didn't study the original
question sufficiently.

The answer is "Yes - you can".  I did not show the looping in the example as
the capability is implicit as a result of using USROPN.  You can OPEN/CLOSE
as many times as you wish, changing the file name each time if you wish.  Of
course the format of the files must match, or at least the differences be
taken care of programmatically.
