I'm thinking the answer 'NO' but I'll ask anyway.

I have a file that contains several records with the file names being used 
in serveral programs.

The file names are brought into these programs as a field variable  to do 
things like CLRPFM, CPYTOIMPF, etc. 

Is it truth that there is no way to do this:

C                                          EVAL       FILENAME    = ''' + 
%trim(DRKY)  + '''    <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< this
C                                          OPEN      FILENAME

C                                          Eval          Qcmd = 'CLRPFM 
FILE('  +  %trim(DRKY)  + ')' 

Can't test myself iSeries not avail.
