Are you sure the date isn't a null in the file? I think interactive SQL shows a
'-' when the date is null but most other programs I've messed with that display
a null date show '0001-01-01' instead.

Subject: ISO Date in RPGLE

We use a canned package software – SSA’s PRMS. They use ISO Dates in
all files. If a date is not required at the time they put 0001-01-01 in
for the default date. In ILE I tried to compare the date field with
0001-01-01 and could not make it work. First how can I see if the date
is equal to 0001-01-01 and second how can I fill the date with
0001-01-01.

Thanks
