That was one of my initial thoughts, but did I misinterpret this from the
V5R2 manual?
"When OPTIONS(*OMIT) is specified, then the value *OMIT is allowed for that
parameter. *OMIT is only allowed for CONST parameters and parameters which
are passed by reference."

To me, this says that Value is not allowed.

No, I hadn't.  The program's already written, thanks for the offer - and -
yes, what this program does you don't have.  It's a date offset by a number
of days calculator with optional date format translation. eg:  calculate 30
days ago and translate from *MDY to *CYMD0.
