Well, the issue is that he's getting the MCH1210 at run-time, not compile-time.


While there may indeed be a compiler problem, and it may be addressed by an existing PTF (it sounds somewhat familiar), the point of my post is to recommend using integer and unsigned numeric variables in cases where your numeric values have zero decimal places, such as the 3rd and 4th operands of the lookup BIF's. Integer and unsigned arithmetic is always faster than decimal arithmetic.

The other point of my post is that there's not really any good reason to prefer using a 3P0 packed decimal variable over a 5P0. One byte savings isn't much considering all the other overhead in a module. (In terms of storage, a 5I0 occupies the same number of bytes as a 3P0.)
