Hi,

it seems to have different values in the varying lenght field. Make sure to
remove trailling blanks in your key list field (with %TRIMR). If this is not
the problem, check the lenght of the key field in the file (with %LEN). May
be it contains trailling blanks.

Regards,
Werner Noll

Betreff: FW: Read a record from a LF with "varying length" - keyfield

Hi All,

I 'm trying to read a record in a LF but I can't get any data
The LF has a varying field as the first keyfield,
followed by 4 fixed fields.
I do a Chain with a Keylist using the first 2 fields but the CHAIN always
fails .

How do I have to code this ?

luc
