RPG, when used in a framework mode, is similar to Visual Basic.  In VB, the
form ( display ) is the basis for the framework and the programmer writes
code that runs during different events.  In RPG, the framework is structured
around the report.

Interesting how both VB and RPG were very popular in their day.
