There are packages, but if you want to do this in-house....

Have your database file ready (either dds or qry output)
do a similar command:
QSYS/CPYTOIMPF FROMFILE(your library/your file name on 400)
             TOSTMF(/QIBM/somefolder/somefilename.CSV) MBROPT(*REPLACE)
             STMFCODPAG(*PCASCII) RCDDLM(*CR)

The defaults are *DLM and with the " and , for separators.

this will create a comma delimited file on the "ifs"....

You could now use the SNDEMAIL command that has been discussed here
previously -
if you do not have code, let me know - I was offered it too, as I did not
have
full access to the article which contained all the code.

Works very slick, I am doing this here for many people.
Is running in batch, some things I even forget about them running now.

Subject: Re: Create Excel Spreadsheet from AS/400 Data & Email it

Andreas Goering (www.goering.us) has a product that will do this.
(Just a customer, no vested interest.)

I need to create a batch routine that will extract information from an
as/400 database file and create various excel spreadsheets out of them. I
then need to email there files to our customers.

Any ideas or suggestions on how to automate this process.
