Hi Robert,
One way of doing the sme is to define 2 compile time arrays.
First array can have all valid characters from a to z and 0 to 9, second
array can have all special characters.
In RPG compare the input value with array elemenent and save the
corresponding special character value from 2nd array in Data base.
