Yes, it was KO.

Probably because they didn't want people to confuse the letter O with the digit
0 when working with the source.  The indicator series KA, KB... were first used
on the S/32 (or at least that is the first I saw them...)

It may have been a poor original decision, since the Kx indicators can never use
a digit in the second position.  So I personally think it would have caused less
confusion to use KO than what has resulted from skipping it.

But of course it can't be changed now, since existing code would break.
