Hi Zak.

Thanks. I have resolved the problem. The null indicator is actually an
attribute to the field name. So it must be set to *off before it will accept
any data or a comparison can be made.

Tilo, there is also a second field associated with each field that can be
null. After setting the value of the field, you still have to manually
change that indicator to change the field from null. I don't have the
details in front of me, but I'm sure you can find it.
