It's in the API books. You can get to them from 
http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/pubs/html/as400/online/homeeng1.htm. If you're 
using V5R1, you can go directly to 
http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/iseries/v5r1/ic2924/info/apis/obj4.htm for all of 
the user index API's. They're pretty easy to use but you have to remember that 
when the API guide defines a field as Binary(4), don't use the B data type. 
These are generally defined as 10i0 for ILE RPG.

instead.
