In the windows world I use CuteFTP and >Dreamweaver so I simply click
buttons. On the AS/400 we have FTP software called TrailBlazer (I
believe). I'd >like to understand the whole process and tracking or
confirming from the ground up.

Mike,

If you do indeed have Trailblazer FTP software, I would highly recommend
utilizing it. Print out their user manual -- it contains setup info
(adding IP addresses, etc) and sample scripts (CL Programs using their
commands) -- it should be on the install CD. They also intergrate very
nicely into most (if not all) of the EDI translators running on the 400.
That software also contains built in tracking and resend attempts. I used
this software for FTP and IP for EDI data in previous employ and once I got
used to it, I used it for many, many things beyond sending EDI data.

Good luck and enjoy -- it's fun!
Karen
