The ruling used to be that for physical files with a small amount of data,
that there was not a problem with them being keyed, but physical files
with a significant amount of records, ie transaction files, should not be
keyed, due to the system resource required when for instance restoring.
Whether this still stands up with today's machines is another matter!

I have always wondered why people don't want their Physical Files Keyed,
and
since you seem to be an advocate maybe you could explain your reasons.  I
am
not saying you are wrong, I am just curious.
