The field must be null-capable first before utilizing the %NULLIND
function

Any null-capable field should be first checked for its null status then
the value.

Nightmare? What's better putting a fictitious date value instead?

Bill,

Use the null flag for the field and then in the RPG program set
%NULLIND(field)=*ON.

Thank you,

Subject: DATE FIELD QUESTION ...

Is it possible to have RPG output blanks or all zeroes to a date field
defined as "L *ISO" in the physical file DDS source?

The reason I ask is because I have a file that I'm adding the date field
to but only want the date to be in certain records.

I checked the archive list and couldn't find anything.

Bill
