Hi All,

How can we know the exact data size in the PF and LF ? I tried with the
command DSPOBJD and DSPFD and found significant in size given by these two
commands. All the time size given by DSPOBJD is greater than size given by
DSPFD.
The size of a file is bigger that just the product of the record
length and the number of records. There is additional overhead due
to record descriptions, indexes, etc.

Also size of few LF is very huge but We know that LF does not contain any
data, its only a view over physical file.
The view is implemented by an index, which of course, occupies
physical storage. An index may well be a significant fraction of the
size of the file.

Cheers! Hans
