How about a simple rename(SOMERCD: SLSTRN) on the F spec?

i've written an RPG program designed to update or the other of two files.

These files look exactly alike, except that they have different file and
record format names.

When updating the second file, I run an OVRDBF FILE(SLSTRN) TOFILE(SLSTRNX)
LVLCHK(*NO).

but when I run the program, I get an error when I write to the file.

Record format SLSTRN not in member SLSTRNX.

I thought LVLCHK(*no) would take care of that and the program would ignore
differences in the record format names...

What are my options? define both files and change the logic to
write/update one or the other?

thanks

Rick
