You won't be designing the database.  That is already done for you.  You
will be using features of the database to design your application and how
you use the files you create in the database.

You can start a journal for a file, or you might choose to attach a trigger
to the files that concern you, and when the trigger is pulled with an
add/update/delete activity you can carry out your business rules to insure
integrity and also prevent  widows and orphans.
