Journal and jrn rcv

Dear sirs,
Inorder to ensure the atomicity of the delete rule/update rule on
*cascade  , we need journal and journal receiver.
for which file u have to write this journal and receiver...can u
please give me coplete idea of this..do i need to write this
journals while designing database?
provide eme some some small examples....
