If you have to use an overlay, create the signature as a page segment first
using CA AFP as Mike suggested. Then you can use the overlay utility to
create an overlay or add the page segment to your exisiting overlay if you
have one using the the F13 place graphic function, then choose 9 for page
segment. Then just type the name of the page segment you created.

If you do not already have an overlay you are using to create checks. I
would suggest using just the page segment by itself using the PAGSEG
keyword.
