I would NOT blindly follow the advice to use ADDDUR unless I understood how
and why it works.  The RPG Reference manual has several relevant sections
that bear immediately upon your question:

Date data types (Chapter 10)
Date operations (Chapter 20)

While there, have a peek at the time and timestamp data types.  They may
save you some work...

If you cannot find the manual locally, look at the FAQ for how to find them
on the web.  The FAQ is at http://faq.midrange.com  I download the PDFs to
my PC here at work so I can quickly refer to them.
