Otherwise you could output standard prints from the AS400 but send them to a
remote location to be processes by PC printing & formatting software such as
Formscape.

This allows you to output from the AS400, pick up the spooled file on the
PC, process it using whatever logic is needed, format the pint using
graphics etc then output the re-formatted print to printers, fax or e-mail.
Depends whether you need the data itself or just a reformatted print.

Cheers,

Jenny

George,

I would use the Client Access ODBC driver and use a tool like Crystal
Reports for your presentation. That way, your data is timely. If you must
use Access, set up an link using your ODBC connection to the 400. Then use
Access for your presentation.

Thanks,

Mark

Hi,

I am developing an application on as/400 by using RPG but need to develop
user reports on client because of colorful presentation and most of the
reports forms are preprinted. Our database will be reside on as/400 but
need
to access required files and selected data from client. Data to be saved on
client in MS Access and then reports would be generated and printed from
client. I want records selection criteria for selecting user requested data
from client.

I have no idea how to do it, what tools, software and technical expertise
is
needed. Any advice and idea would be appreciated.

Regard.
