CHEKR is what you want to do then, as one of the parms is the r-position to
start searching at. You'll need to build a string of all valid characters,
be sure to include !@#$%^&*()_+{}[]|\'";:/?.>,<~`

But that won't work in this case, will it?

>>>Let's say this is my string:
This is a sentence that is longer than what will fit in my field.

>>>Currently my report looks like this (%subst(string:1:37)):
This is a sentence that is longer tha
n what will fit in my field.

>>>I want it to look like this (%subst(string:1:last space but less than
37)):
This is a sentence that is longer
than what will fit in my field.

What about: %len(%TrimR(Text)) + 1

Would that do what you wish?

Subject: Text wrapping question

I need to do some text wrapping and am trying to figure out how to locate
the last space in the text. We are on V4R5. I know I can do it in a loop, I
was just wondering if there is already a bif that can do it.
