"I need some help within one of my programs. I need to write an entire
record from one file to another. The layouts of the files are indentical
except that the field names are prefixed differently. All that I want to do
is to move the record from CADJ(format name) to CADH(format name) and write
it out.

I tried to externally describe the files in data sturctures, but still get
error messages."

I tried this:

     ftest1 ip e k disk
     ftest2 if a e k disk
      *
     d ds1 e ds extname(test1)
     d ds2 e ds extname(test2)
      *
     c eval ds2 = ds1
     c write CGIR2

Good luck!!!
