The classic way with CL is along these lines:

PGM Parm(1,2,3,4)

RTVJOBA (interactive)

/* run the job as interactive, then submit as batch & end */
If interactive: DO
  ...ask questions....
Submitbatchjob CALL PGM(thispgm Parm(1,2,3,4)

   Goto End
    EndDo
/* run the batch job */
run the job

End:  Endpgm

is there way to pop up a screen on a workstation from a batch job

I tried doing OVRDSPF DEV('workstation')
and then doing EXFMT but it says that device is in use, cannot allocate the
device..
