What you tried wasn't totally off based.  It's just that you date addition
is wrong.
What you have is :  (REYR4 + REMONT + REDAY)  or (1999 + 05 + 10), which
would equal 2014, not 19990510.
What you want is  ((REYR4 * 10000) + (REMONT * 100) + REDAY)

That is jsut one way to do it...

Can anyone help me out?  I am trying to select data from a Revenue file
based on the date range the user keys in.  It can be many ranges for dates.
The file has a YYYY MM DD fields(REYR4, REMONT, REDAY).  How can I combine
all date fields in Revenue file and make on 8 0 S date field for comparing
what the user keys in?  I tryed a data structure unsuccessfully.

 **-*-*-*-*
 C/exec sql
 C+ Declare C1 cursor for
 C+ Select *
 C+ from REVENUE
 C+ WHERE REMKRE = :MKMOD2 and
 C+        (REYR4 + REMONT + REDAY)  >= :SDATE   and

 C+        (REYR4 + REMONT + REDAY)  <= :EDATE
 C+ order by REYR4, REMONT, REDAY, REMKRE
 C/end-exec
