It's not the chain/readc that would make the difference - it's the
'update'.  If sflnxtchg is active when you update the sfl record, it
shouldn't matter which method (chain/readc) you used to retrieve the
record, the update should mark the record as changed.

Based on the manuals in those days (V3R1 orV3R2, as I recall) SFLNXTCHG
would not work on a SFL chain operation.

Perhaps I am mistaken or the manuals were wrong.
