UPC's use a method similar to Mod10, but not exactly the same.  For a standard
12-digit UPC, the odd numbered positions use a factor of 3 while the even
numbered positions use a factor of 1.  Take the sum of the first 11 digits (with
the odd positions weighted), and the check digit is the difference to get to the
next multiple of 10.
