Since one of the big advantages of RPGIV is that
you can encapsulate common code, I would question
why this is so to learn about embedded SQL, unless
they have a bunch of it. Learning sql is worthwhile.
One SQLRPGLE module can handle the vast majority
of SQL requests. If that sounds far fetched, check
out the DYNSQL module that is part of the
iSeries-toolkit at:
http://cvs.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/iseries-toolkit/CVSROOT/src/qrpglesrc/dynsql.sir?rev=HEAD&content-type=text/vnd.viewcvs-markup

You can download the whole thing at:

Hi All,

It's been sugested by a prospective employer that I get familiar with
embedded SQL (while they decide on an offer, I hope)

Does anybody know of an online reference manual, or tutorial, that I
can get
started with?
I can get through a "STRSQL" F4, "Select" F4..., so I'm not totally
clueless. (okay, well, close...)

TIA,
Capt.j
