Why not use the file upload wizard?  Look in the Tools menu for "Create
AS/400 Database File".  Just follow the steps (remember to name and size the
fields as you want), and it creates an FDF.  When it dumps you back to the
Data Transfer screen, click Transfer Data and you're done.  Works pretty
well, usually.

Subject: CA file transfer on V5R1


Since going to V5R1, I seem to be unable to transfer data to the AS/400,
using the following steps:

Download data from the target file on the AS/400 to the PC, creating an
FDF file
Using that FDF file for the transfer to the AS/400

I get messages stating that there is data inconsistencies between the PC
file and the AS/400 file. The file is a comma delimited (i.e. Excel xls
file)

I've done this many,many times before...what am I missing
