I'd probably do this mostly to reduce the number of objects that must be
maintained. I makes more sence to me to issue the override from the program
that depends on its existence.

I would use the function "system" from the C runtime.... (personal
preference). At V5R1 you can override files directly on the F spec.

Can someone explain why you would do the OVRDBF with QCMDEXC in the RPG,
rather than in the CLLE that he already has? I always do it in the CLLE
(with NAG QILE) ... what's the advantage of doing in the RPG (other than
being more visible, I guess ... that has bit me a couple times!)

Use QCMDEXC to do the OVRDBF in RPGLE2.
-----Original Message-----
I have a CLLE program that calls a RPGLE program then the RPGLE calls a
CLLE that does a OVRDBF to a different Library then the RPG calls another
RPG to process the file.

EXAMPLE:
 CLLE1 calls RPGLE1
                    RPGLE1 calls CLLE2
                                         CLLE2 does a ovrdbf
                    RPGLE1 calls RPGLE2
RPGLE2 tries to process the file
but the ovrdbf does not work

Any suggestions?

Thanks Chris
