If I read your question right, I think you are out of luck.

If you mean by simply moving the cursor from one record to another, without
pressing enter or a function key, then no.  In general, you can't
dynamically change the appearance of a display file without returning
control to your program and re-writing the format with different display
attributes.

if 'enter' or another function key is an option, then it can be done.
