How does he have the ** parameters prototyped?  Depending on the context,
they should be either something like

 * (input) char **attrs
D attrs           *   const dim(whatever)

or

 * (output) LDAPMessage **res
D res             *

I'd never heard of these LDAP functions before, and now this is the
second LDAP thing today (different forum).  The other one was about
ldap_search_s.  Spooky.
