Donald,

QILE is the default for programs. For a service program the default is
*CALLER.
Ideally, any routine that is called in more than one place should be
put in a
service program. I would recommend that someone wanting to use
activation
groups should look at using *CALLER wherever practical for both
programs
and service programs. That means to me everything but the entry points
to
your applications like commands and menu programs.

QILE is the default named activation group. When you specify
DFTACTGRP(*NO)
on program creation commands, QILE is used for the ACTGRP parameter
unless
you type in something else. The default activation group is an
unnamed
activation group in which everything not using a named activation group
like
QILE runs.

question: is QILE the "default activation group"? or is it a named
activation group?
