Booth,
I am not using 'F' specs The file is being used in an embedded SQL
application
Yeh, i know i can do a 'COUNT' in an sql statement, and it may be fine(just
not sure). But i'm trying to take into account that i may have very large
files. Not sure if there is a performance issue if i do 'select count(*)
from filea into :size'

I keep seeing these sorts of questions where people want to use an API to
get information. Yet the information seems to be pretty generally available
without an API. What is it I am not understanding about the problem?

       * INFDS for database file. FileSize will contain the number
       * of records in the file when the file is opened.
      DINFDS DS
      D FILESIZE 156 159B 0

Does anyone have an example of using this api, they would be willing to
share?
I need to determine the number of records in a file.

Thanks

Mike
