Try your favorite PC DOS  or Unix command for creating a Directory.

Like   MD
or
MKDIR

Key either one on an AS/400 command line and press F4.     See,  You had PC
file systems all along and didn't know it.

Now key in WRKLNK and take a look.    It's the same stuff as from Windows
explorer

A couple of things,  /QOpenSys is a real Unix file system with 256 byte
names and CaSe SenStiVity
/QDLS enforces the PC  8.3  naming rule.
BTW,  the AS/400 recoginizes both /    forward slashes, and \ Backwards
slashes and allow you to use either.
