It's isn't the writing to the IFS that "eats" CPU in your program, it's
all the external functions for checking file existance, retrieving field
lists, member descriptions, field conversions (from buffer) a.s.o.

Try using CPYTOSTMF in stead; it writes to the IFS too. The difference in
execution times can be "blamed" on your external functions.
