Personally, I'd go with something easier to understand:

If (that='That' and (this = 'Thing' or
                                this = 'Otherthing'))
do stuff.......
EndIf

Subject: Boolean expressions

Being new to the as400 programming world, I would like some insight of how
RPG deals with expressions such as

this ifeq 'Thing'
that andeq 'That'

this oreq 'Otherthing'
that andeq 'That'

            do this

endif

Isn't it redundant and if so equivalent of:

this ifeq 'Thing'
this oreq 'otherthing'
that andeq 'that'

     do this
end if

How does RPG evaluate boolean expressions?

I've had some argumentation about this and do not agree with my superior on
this.
Thanks in advance.
