I am posting for someone else in my shop.  Here is his question:

I need to know how to code the output specifications to create a PDF417
barcode. I know the ZPL command - I am not sure how to format the data
within my RPG program. I am running into issues with the field size (256)
vs. the printer file size. When I increase the length of the printer file I
get the message - Page size of file not supported by device
