Bob I don't know about others on the list but we have been thinking about
trying to find this sort of thing for a while....
A) yes I am interested?
B) Depending on the price...
C) For personal use probably around $100 for a single license for corpoarte
maybe give a discount...

one of the things that has seemed to work for the big guys of pc
programming is basically give the compiler away free, and charge for a good
IDE with lots of nifty features. Also, thes guys have levels of Compiler
the free one let's you do most things but some support is limited,
developer let's you do any thing but you have to do all of the coding for
your self, and lastly Enterprise something where you get everything from
developer but also has built in wizards for creating certain types of
products...

Also, the product would have to access the 400 quite well and somewhat
seemlessly... You want to avoid, what I think are mistakes, VRPG made in
forcing the developer to learn a new syntax just to handle the screens.

I'm wondering if we RPG programmers are interested in using RPG (III or
IV) to develop applications that run on the PC under Windows/Linux
whatever?

So my questions are:

A) Are you interested in having RPGIII and RPG IV available as a
compiled language/development environment on the PC under Windows?
(YES/NO)
B) Are you willing to pay for such a compiler/development
environment out of your own pocket? (YES/NO)
C) Regardless of whether or not your are willing to pay for it out
of your own pocket, what is the highest amount you would be willing to
pay for a pretty good, RPGIII, RPGIV and DDS compiler than allowed your
generate PC-based applications and provided source code compatibility
with the AS/400 compiler?

Please respond to me personally or to the list.

Its okay to reply to the list too, but I don't like to get a lot of "me
too" type answers.

Thanks!
