With Client Access and most terminal emulators there is an attribute mapping option, which will let you map any attribute  to any combination of foreground/background color as well as actual blinking.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think that BLINK only works on monochrome displays ... I think the blink attribute turns red on color displays (of any type).
