I think you read James message wrong.  James was NOT saying you were
asking a stupid question, he was saying HE was about to ask a stupid question!

His stupid question being "Does program MSG7AECL use ..."
Then he said he had another stupid question: (Notice he says MY -real- stupid 
question.
So here is my -real- stupid question: Does MSG7AECL perform a RTVJOBA to 
determine the switch settings?

The column (:) means something like, here it is, or it follows, so what James 
is saying
is:
stupid question: (and here's the stupid question) Does program MSG7AECL use...

I think you should apologize, Troy.
