  • Subject: Read subfile without clearing screen?

I have a subfile in a separate display file (Str002FN) as the rest of
the screen (Str002FM).

I am able to show both the subfile and the standard screen (S1) with no
problems,
and read from the standard screen with a simple read.

The series of events goes something like
  write SflHead (From Str002FN)
  write SflCtrl (From Str002FN)
  write Str002FM
  read Str002FM

Now, I have enabled a function key (F20) for the users to be able to
select a subfile record. That's where my problem lies.
If I do a read SflCtl instead of Str002FM, the screen gets blanked except
for the subfile display. I've also tried Read Str002FN with the same
results. I tried ExFmt SflCtl with same results also.

How do I prevent the screen from repainting on the read statement?

Regards,

Jim Langston
