  • Subject: Fw: Virus Alert from email re OPNQRYF!!!

If you receive an email directly from PCRAO regarding an OPNQRYF discussion
in RPG400-L with an attachment named README.TXT.pif (13.3KB), do not open
the attachment. It may infect c:\windows\hkk32.exe with the Backdoor.Trojan
virus and c:\windows\inetd.exe with the W32.Badtrans.13312@mm virus as well
as update autoexec.bat with a call to inetd.exe. I didn't see the .pif
after the .TXT and made the mistake of opening the attachment, thinking it
had come from RPG400-L.

Norton detected this after the fact.
