I was about to write very much the same thing.  It bears repeating.  If you 
write your code correctly you are shielded from API changes unless you actually 
care about the newly available data.  The APIs are designed to be extndable in 
an upwardly compatible manner.

I do agree that IBM could do a better job of listing changed APIs in the 
(dis)information centre.  For most of them you have to read the specific API 
documentation to find out that a change occurred.  They should provide a list 
of new and changed APIs or use the little chevrons on the APIs by category 
panel and the list of APIs in the category so you at least know something 
changed in this group and can then explore whether you care about the change.
