Hi Rob,

That was in Midrange-L, with the subject "Name of the caller in RPG400".

I quote it here so it's in the RPG mail list also:

"It has been a while since I've used RPG/400 but if memory serves look at
positions 254 through 263 in the program status data structure for the user
Id.  In RPG/400 this will be the user id of the current user.

Current user and job initiator are not necessarily the same.  If a profile
switch was performed prior to calling your RPG/400 program positions 254
through 263 will contain the switched to profile not the job's initiator
user profile.  To obtain the job initiator's user profile you will have to
call a CL program that utilizes command RTVJOBA, or the QUSRJOBI API.

In ILE RPG current user profile is found in positions 358 through 367.
Positions 254 through 263 contain the job initiator's user profile.
