RE: Can I get the Day of the week?

Maybe I'm misunderstanding your (lets say) fears on this. 
After all, like most problems in life, the answer to ANY problem, first starts 
out with a situation that we KNOW is completely true. 
This could be (as in this case) that the base date that is being used is 
05/16/2001 is a Wednesday, and that ALL calculations for other days are based 
on this fact. - 
or that 1 + 1 is 2. Again another fact that is true, and a fact that MOST 
calculations are based upon.

The one problem I have with most of these suggestions is that the date is
then dependant upon a known date. Doesn't other people see something wrong
with this?

As much as I respect John Horton Conway, RPG programmers can't do
day of week computation much shorter than with this procedure:
