I do not think i can help much but  we (not me personaly) configured As400
to go through NT proxy to Inernet FTP servers.
I know that each outside IP needs to be configured on as400 so it knows it
is outside or local IP address.

MS Proxy?

The as/400 cannot be proxy client.

MS's new ISA server may work.  Or, you can put the
as/400 on the dmz but you'd have to get the help of
someone who knows what he's doing.
