You are correct on this

This is where you go wrong.  The parameters have absolutely _no_ effect on
the signature.  I wish they did!


The _only_ thing that changes the signature is the number, names and
sequence of the procedures.  If you have three procs ProcA, ProcB, and
ProcC you will get a different signature if:

 - you add another procedure to the list
 - you delete a procedure from the list
 - or change the sequence to (say) ProcC, ProcA, ProcB.

I know this is in the ILE concepts guide somewhere but I can't quote you a
page number I'm afraid.
