Speaking subject to correction,

CPYSPLF to a physical file does not handle non-text data (barcodes, postal 
codes etc).
Thatever it does not handle, I believe there is a limitation there.

However, there is an API <I think> that copies spool-file data out of the 
spoolfile,
is quicker to process, and possible will not have as many limitations as 
CPYSPLF.

I am basing this on discussions I have had with people,
am stating it subject to correction,
and promise not to take it personally should i get attacked on this posting.
